What are the service fees for Debit Card purchases outside of Hong Kong or any transactions in a foreign currency?
All foreign currency transactions are converted back into Hong Kong Dollars (HKD), based on the latest exchange rate provided by Mastercard, subject to a foreign currency transaction fee. If you use your Debit Card to withdraw cash via an ATM that supports CIRRUS, you may incur additional service fees.Also: some merchants abroad (offline and online) may offer you the option of settling your payment in Hong Kong Dollars. Please note this settlement option is provided solely by the merchant and not by WeLab Bank. Before using this option, remember to ask the merchants for their exchange rates and any handling fees that are applied, as this may involve a cost higher than settling in foreign currency.
